I wonder how much racing experience is here, in years. I know a lot of you guys have been racing for 30+ years and I'd like to throw out a little survey.

I myself have been racing pancakes since 1967, so that's 43 years. So there's the starting number, add your number and total it up, I bet we can get close to 300 or 400 pretty easily.

Add my 8 years (since age 16)

Total: 51 years

I've never really formally raced but, I've been running cars off and on since the mid-60's. So either like zero or 45.

I ran my first HO car in 1965, run in my first HO race later that year. So it looks like 45 years experience here, and climbing. Looks like the "running total" is up to about 180 years so far!

Total is actually 191 years. Wow, you guys are all so old!!! ROFL!!!! My dad likes to kid that he has shoes older than me, with the original laces even.

Ok, so math isnt my strong suit, especially on all my "new" meds. And yes, I have race t shirts, shoes & driving uniforms much older than you, too. Wait, I just slammed meself. yep, I'm a child of the '60s.

My first race set was made by A.C. Gilbert American Flyer....1958

It had 2 jalopys with train motors and ran on a over /under figure 8 with steerable front wheels that turned with the guide.

Neighbors had a vibe set about 62 and we had a t-jet set as soon as they were on the market.

My first set was a vib set, 1962. Hangin in there ever since.

I have had the fever since 1965... and still going. I have raced 1/24, 1/32, 1/43, and HO. I vividly remember the white 69 Aurora torino that I hogged out the wheel wells to mount bigger, wider tires.

My memory brushes are burnt but I believe 1966 was the Christmas I received an Aurora T-Jet figure 8 in Chicago on my fathers side Grandparents (River Grove) house.
That lasted till about 1973 into AFX and New Jersey and then I found Englishtown Flea Market. If I remember correct, they had 4 huge 1/24 tracks with 20 people waiting to race at every track on the weekends, then Daddy had to move again (Military Brat).
1980 I think I tried a TCR track but just wasn't into it.
1988, tried again with the Tyco 440, 440x2's and was off and running again, built a nice 4 lane and collected many cars, all to be stolen in 1990.
1992, started 1/24 again in Fayetteville N.C. and raced regular till 1994.
2010, crazy thoughts started racing though this old noggin and in August HO slots and 1/24 hit me all at once. This time its the hardest it has ever hit me too, and that is scary, mostly to me.
